Description | A coast loop 200k that heads North to Long Beach, WA. Starts in Astoria at the Maritime Museum. You will probably be on trails and roads you've not traveled before. Trails include the Astoria Riverwalk, Discovery Trail, and North Head Trail. Few riders have traveled the Long Beach Pennisula to the Willapa Wildlife Refuge. The price to pay for these great roads is Megler Bridge in both directions. It is a long and high bridge that crosses the mouth of the Columbia. I've been on it in blustering winds where you feel the bridge sway. Finish up on Pier 39 at the Rouge Brewery.
Spend the weekend in Astoria or another coast town or campground, or drive out for a day ride. |
