Description:
This populaire starts in Forest Grove and is quickly into the wetlands of Wapato dry lake bed to the south. We head south then east skirting around Chehalem Mountain to Newberg before crossing the Willamette River into Marion County. We pass Champoeg State Park and into the French Prairie area making our way to Woodburn the turnaround point.

Woodburn has many fine home-cooked Mexican restaurants in the downtown area just west of the turnaround. From Woodburn we head north towards "La Butte", a prominent feature on the prairie. The small Butteville General Store might be open, a good place for a good cup of coffee and snacks. We head right along the Willamette River east to Boones Bridge. After crossing the bridge on I-5 we are in Wilsonville, a haven for more heartburn possibilities. To the right is Wanker's Corners Pub. Pardon to our British readers, the name does not mean that here. If you are allergic to peanuts, do not go there. They serve up buckets of peanuts with the beer and Aussie decor, and the floors are not swept until the wee hours of the morn. The fish n’ chips are fabulous.

From Wilsonville back to Forest Grove we travel along the Tualatin River and its tributaries using back roads. We pass via Tonquin, Sherwood, Kinton and Farmington returning from the south via Fernhill Wetlands.

After 150k, if not suffering from heartburn, you'll be ready for refueling and refreshments at the Grand Lodge. If you eat here, you can also partake of the free soaking pool. Bring a suit and towel then exchange your driver’s license for a key to the pool at the front desk.

Cumulative elevation gain is not many feet.
