Description
This ride begins at the swim beach parking lot at the Home Valley
Park. The swim beach and showers will nice to have after a mid July ride
though southwest Washington and forest southwest of Mt. Adams. Much of
the ride will be familiar to Seattle riders as sections are also in the
Cascade 1200 and SIR Summer fun 300k ride over Baby Shoe pass.
The ride follows SR 14 east to Bingen Washington turning north and gently climbing SR 141 to Trout Lake. From Trout Lake the ride follows FR 23 continuing north and gently climbing to the summit of the ride at the junction of FR 90 (3,650 feet). The ride follows FR 90 as it rolls south west along the Lewis River and old growth forests to the Curly Creek road. The Curly Creek road provides a challenging five mile climb southeast to the Wind River Road. The Wind River is mostly down hill south to the town of Carson. The route follows the St. Martins Mineral Spring road back to SR 14 and the Home Valley Park.
