Description
The Klickitat Explorer is a giant loop circling much of the sparse populated
Klickitat County. The ride starts at Daubenspeck park in Bingen Washington.
From Bingen. the ride follows SR 14 east, rolling gently along the Columbia
River to Alderdale Road. Alderdale road climbs gently north to Glade Road and
finally to SR 22 at Mabton. The route follows SR 22 to the outskirts of
Topenish where it turns South and follows US 97 over Satus pass to Goldendale.
At Goldendale the route turns west and follows SR 142 to the Glenwood Road and
on to Glenwood. From Glenwood, the route turns southwest and rolls gently down
along the BZ road to BZ Corners and SR 141. There are only several small hills
remaining on SR 141 between BZ Corners and the end of the ride at Daubenspeck
Park.
